The Coopers Amp presents Amp Alive : 

The Coopers Amp will be staging a free live event in the heart of Melbourne. The shortlisted act will be playing this free live event, along with other shortlisted acts to be announced in early 2013. It’s time to reveal all. 

The Australian Music Prize has always been about recognising the best Australian albums of the year. This year, The Coopers Amp is turning it up a notch giving all fans, punters and music lovers a chance to show their appreciation for Australian music at live music event Amp Alive.

With the view of bringing good music to good people, Amp Alive is an outdoor event to be held in Melbourne’s Federation Square on February 1st 2013. The Coopers Amp is pleased to announce this year’s first shortlisted artist, Hermitude, as one of the acts that will be igniting the stage at Fed Square. More will be announced soon.

Hosted by two prominent Australian artists in their own right, Clare Bowditch and Kevin Mitchell, Amp Alive will showcase some of Australia’s finest. More importantly, it is where the nine shortlisted albums of The Coopers Amp will be congratulated and celebrated, and it’s free and open to public thanks to the support of City of Melbourne and Federation Square.

The AMP Alive event will be held on Friday February1, Featuring performances from some of the artists who released the best albums of 2012: 


- Hermitude
- Jess Ribeiro & The Bone Collectors
- Urthboy

And the announcement of the complete Shortlist of The Coopers Amp.
